I think basing this image on the interior described throughout the book helped to set the tone of the book. Also, I like the simplicity of the composition and different details of the objects in the frame. Describing character through the portraits was also something I enjoyed. This added a more interesting aspect to the illustration, inviting a viewer to think about who these people could be.
