Observational Drawing

Line drawing - University Campus view from a bridge within the University block.
The perspective and layout of the building was challenging as the viewpoint is one I am not used to. Sneaking into another university to stand on a bridge was also a bit awkward and there were lots of students peaking into my sketchbook but I enjoyed the experience. I have really enjoyed drawing from observation again after having a bit of a break.

After drawing at the University Campus we moved on to the local park. Here I found the architecture to be very interesting. I also found a leaf with unusual markings and strange looking, bead-like eggs scattered on it. I almost wanted more time in the park, it was such a nice day! As I started later than everyone else, this was my first full day of University and it was great just getting to know everyone - Lovely people!

Town Hall - Here we were asked to draw the stone lions. This was the most difficult task of the day for me, the lions had a 'melted' quality to them and are slightly out of proportion. This made my job to observe them quite challenging and I really had to look at what was there in front of me and ignore any guess work. His legs are ridiculous!
